In general there are 3 types of spill kits, General Purpose, Marine, & Workshop. General purpose or universal spill kit is used for containing non-hazardous substances like, coolants, water, solvents and antifreeze. Marine spill kits are designed to deal with grease and oil spills. The materials in this kit are designed to repel water and are used in an accident such as an ocean oil spill. Workshop spill kits are mostly used in manufacturing plants and industries. They are suitable for dealing with hazardous chemicals and hydrocarbons.
